A living story of beats, bytes and big ideas, Troy Carter brings 20 years of progressive experience within music, tech and media to the art of hustle. He is the founder and CEO of entertainment company Atom Factory and content platform Smashd.co; an investor with 80+ holdings including Uber, Spotify, DropBox and Warby Parker; a founding/general partner of Cross Culture VC; and a self-accomplished talent manager for artists including Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth. Troy was also a guest shark for Season 7 of ABC’s hit prime-time show, Shark Tank.
Troy started from humble roots in the streets of West Philadelphia, where he dropped out of high school to trade textbooks for a passion in music. His early moves included starting rap trio 2 Too Many, working with Will Smith, promoting for (then) emerging talent Notorious BIG, Wu-Tang Clan and Jay Z, in addition to working for P. Diddy—all by age 25. Venturing into entrepreneurship with best friend J. Erving and artist Eve, Troy later conquered business highs and lows through managing Lady Gaga over five years, growing her into a global pop sensation. Investing and media are the newest chapters in his book of hustle.
