Alexis Jones founded ProtectHer and I AM THAT GIRL. She is a motivational speaker, an author, activist and media personality. Originally from Austin, Alexis moved to Los Angeles and completed her undergrad and master’s degrees at USC, hosted a TV show on the red carpet for three years, worked at ESPN/Fox Sports, was on the CBS show Survivor, MTV’s MADE and produced her first anti-bullying film, A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story.
After writing the book and founding I AM THAT GIRL, a nonprofit with 800k+ girls involved and chapters in 52+ countries, Alexis recently created her ProtectHer Program for young men and has been asked to speak to male athletes in D1 and professional locker rooms across the country about the importance of respecting women. She has spoken at places such as: The White House, The United Nations, Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, The Girl Scouts, DELL, Nike and Pepsi. Alexis was featured as one of AOL’s MAKERS along with Oprah, Ellen, Hilary Clinton and Sheryl Sandberg. She was listed as one of DELL’s #Inspire 100 List, Fast Company‘s “Female Trailblazers,” ESPN’s “Pop Culture’s Top Ten,” named one of the five most influential women in Texas as a Profiles in Power winner and will be giving her first TED talk in January 2017.
